As the New Year starts I really wanted to wish you a Happy 2016 here on the blog, only to realize it hasn’t been updated in a loooooooong time. In the past few months I’ve had so many shoots, so many new families, repeat families, friends, sports, new babies… Life doesn’t stop, and for that I’m very thankful 🙂 At the same time, it’s a challenge to find time to document every shoot as they deserve. So for today, I’ll share this wonderful family and wish you a 2016 full of life!
Shooting for Salinas do Maragogi was a dream job. Spending time in paradise with my family was even better! The Northeast of Brasil is the land of perfect weather, delicious food, amazing landscapes, and the friendliest people you could ever meet. I’ve visited a few times, and each time has left me wanting more. Here are some images from our last summer adventure.

What can be more meaningful than a celebration of love? Kim and Kaitlyn were so wonderful, beautiful, real people, and such a pleasure to get to know and work with. Happy anniversary ladies!

I can’t believe I got to work with 2 Brazilian families this year (this one is only 1/2 Brazilian, but it counts!) Just like the first one (you can see their session here), this couple was a true joy and I sure hope they keep in touch 🙂
They were surprised, then thought it was funny, when I said “Disperse!” as they crowded together for the family picture.
In every session, there’s that moment when the family starts feeling like they can just be themselves and do what they do, without the pressure of posing for a portrait… and that’s when my work really starts.
Here are some of my favorite images from this session. This family’s energy was so positive and light. They are the type of clients who keep me wanting to do more of what I do!
This week I met a really wonderful family from Brasil. They were on vacation in California and spent a beautiful afternoon with me for a photo shoot at my favorite OC spot. Doing a session in Portuguese was a delicious cherry on top for me!

I had a free afternoon… It was the perfect time to go out and explore new places with my family, friends and my camera. It was like traveling far away but within a short drive. Nature, people and photography make life so enjoyable! I can’t believe I’ve lived here for so long and had never seen these amazing caves just a few minutes from my house. There’s no place like California 🙂
